Chimps With Tools 🔧

What happens

At Gombe Stream in Tanzania, on the shore of Lake Tanganyika, a chimp pokes a stick into a termite mound and pulls it out covered in snacks. Baboon babies ride their mums, a young chimp uses a stick to fish the ball out of a bush and runs off with it, and the chimps pant-hoot their big call.

Fun facts

• Scientists first saw chimps making tools right here at Gombe.
• Chimps poke sticks into termite mounds to catch termites.
