What happens

In Cuba's Zapata Swamp, the kids ask 'Is that a bee?' No, it's a bird: the bee hummingbird, the smallest bird on Earth, landing on a hibiscus flower. Flamingos wade, a Cuban crocodile rests far away, the hummingbird hovers in front of a kid's nose for a staring contest, and the red, white and blue Cuban trogon flies in.

Fun facts

  • The bee hummingbird is the smallest bird in the world.
  • The Cuban trogon has the red, white and blue colours of Cuba's flag.
  • Hummingbirds can fly backwards!
