What happens

Deep in Peru's Amazon at Manú, little grey monkeys with long white mustaches watch the game from a branch and stroke their whiskers like grandpas. Across the river, a clay cliff is covered in hundreds of rainbow macaws, punk-haired hoatzins perch by the water, and a family of giant otters squeaks along with the count.

Fun facts

  • Emperor tamarins are named for their long white mustaches!
  • Macaws lick clay from riverbanks, like taking a vitamin.
  • Giant river otters can be as long as a grown-up!
